1. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using Classi (the “Service”), creating an account or posting an ad, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. About Classi

Classi is an online marketplace that lets people publish classified ads and contact each other. We provide the platform only. Unless we clearly say otherwise, Classi is not a party to any transaction between users and does not own, inspect, sell or deliver the items or services advertised.

3. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account or post ads.
  • You must give accurate, current information and keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for your password and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use.
  • Do not create accounts to evade a suspension or to mislead other users.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • break any law or infringe anyone’s rights;
  • post false, misleading, fraudulent or duplicate content;
  • harass, threaten, discriminate against or defraud other users;
  • upload viruses, scrape the Service at scale, or interfere with its security or operation;
  • collect other users’ personal data without their consent, or use it for spam;
  • use the Service to advertise items or services prohibited by our Terms & Conditions.

5. Your content and licence

You keep ownership of the text, photos and other material you post (“Content”). By posting it, you give Classi a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce, adapt and promote your Content in connection with operating and improving the Service. You confirm that you have the right to post the Content and that it does not violate any law or third-party right.

6. Ads and transactions between users

Users are solely responsible for their ads and for any agreement, payment, delivery or dispute with other users. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, legality or accuracy of any ad, or that a buyer or seller will complete a transaction. Please read our safety tips before you meet or pay anyone.

7. Fees, memberships and promotions

Browsing Classi is free. Some features, such as memberships and ad promotions, are paid. Prices, durations and what is included are shown on the Membership and Promote Your Ad pages and at checkout. Prices are in US dollars unless stated otherwise and may be subject to taxes. Refund terms are set out in our Terms & Conditions.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, software, logos and text created by us, is owned by Classi or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify or distribute it except as allowed by these terms or by law. Names, logos and trademarks of other companies belong to their owners.

9. Third-party links and services

The Service may link to websites or use services provided by others, such as payment providers or maps. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, policies or practices. Your use of them is subject to their own terms.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be excluded under the consumer protection laws that apply to you.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Classi and its owners, employees and partners are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service or from transactions between users. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid to Classi in the 12 months before the claim or 100 US dollars.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Classi harmless from claims, damages and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your Content, your breach of these terms or your violation of any law or third-party right.

13. Suspension and termination

We may remove content, suspend or close accounts, with or without notice, if we believe you have broken these terms, put others at risk or harmed the Service. You may stop using Classi at any time and ask us to close your account through the Contact page. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.

14. Changes to the Service and these terms

We may update the Service and these terms from time to time. When we make important changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use Classi after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the country in which Classi’s operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protection rights in your country of residence are not affected.
